The New Economics Foundation has released some good work on equality recently, including this briefing on ten reasons to care about inequality. ACLU and Big Bird Crap on America
November 29, 2011
Part of the ACLU’s whitewash of our crumbling rights as citizens. It turns out that some kid star from Sesame Street was an illegal immigrant, thanks to his parents. They tried to jump in line by overstaying a visitor’s visa and petitioning for family immigration status.

When the family applied for permanent residency through Carlo’s aunt, who was living legally in America, they didn’t expect it would take so long. For 12 years, Carlo kept his status secret from his closest friends, fearing their reaction.
There’s a reason it took so long, and...
Asset Sale Approaching For AT&T Next
November 29, 2011
Rethinking is still on the cards meaning both marketing slogan of AT&T and the key summary of the challenges the US-based telecom giant is currently facing for covering a $39 billion T-mobile purchase looks dubious.
AT&T and Deutsche Telekom (the corporate parent of T-Mobile) acknowledged that the contract got troublesome for the announcement in a Thanksgiving Day. The companies claimed they had withdrawn, at least for now, the application to FCC (Federal Communications Commission) for joining their Cell phone operations. The companies also added that it would charge $4 billion against AT&T’s earnings. To be more obvious the break up fees amount solely owed to AT&T’s parent company if the deal ...
OWS Evictions Obscure Its Value
November 29, 2011
Los Angeles is the latest in a recent string of cities that face eviction of the nonviolent Occupy Wall Street movement. And just as in cities like Oakland and New York – where the protest originated – L.A. is resisting based on their right to assemble. At a glance, the will of the occupiers to continue protesting indicates their overall determination to create reform. On the other hand, it also may suggest a more stubborn, confrontational evolution in the movement of which organizers need to be mindful.
After over two months of national debate, media cove...
