Using the internet to promote your business is the newest form of advertising. There are many different ways to make sure that your business is being recognized online. When considering your internet marketing strategy there are a few tips that can help ensure the success of the campaign. Below are five tips for starting a successful internet marketing campaign.

Tip 1: Online Research

One of the biggest mistakes a company can make is to not research what other businesses in the same industry are doing. Taking the time to research your competition will give you a heads-up on what is working and what is not. Look into how they are developing their internet marketing campaign to gain useful information before starting your own. Another important step in the research process is to determine who is using your product and how to best reach this target market.

Tip 2: Analyze Data

After researching information about your competition...

March 29, 2011

When it comes to Remote Desktop software, there are plenty of benefits to be had. The main and most well-known benefit is the fact that this type of software allows you access to any computer no matter how far or near it is from your location. As long as the software is installed on both computers, a user can create a Remote Connection that starts with the host computer in order to retrieve data, a document, check email, and so on. However, to take it a step further, businesses can easily benefit from using this type of software. Not only can the common at home user make great strides by using this type of software,...

Home Insurance – Where to Start

March 29, 2011

Picking the right insurer for your home can be a daunting task especially if you’re a new home buyer with no prior experience. There are so many providers out there with such a vast range of insurance packages, it’s difficult to tell which is the right plan just for you.

Fortunately the internet makes home insurance shopping much easier especially with sites like InsWeb for the US and Money for UK residents. InsWeb provides a free database  which offers quotes from up to 8 insurers and the UK Money site provides up to 20. They are basically search engine comparison sites so you can access quotes from one location without having to hop from one insurance site to another.

There’s also an article on the CNN site under the money section which I recommend reading that discusses the top things to know about insurance. They even provide some other good articles worth reading pertaining to home ownership in general.

Insurance coverage and requirements also vary base...

There is no End to Personal Finance

March 29, 2011

I think most people go about the whole concept of personal finance from the wrong perspective. They see it as a stage, a journey, a rite of passage, until they can get to some magical place where they will no longer have to worry about managing money.

I’m sorry to say, I think they’re dreaming.

If my weight control efforts over the last five years have taught me anything, it’s that weight management doesn’t stop when your goal weight is reached, and your diet and exercise program can be relaxed. You see, the maintenance component is key to having long-term health.

It takes a great deal of mental and physical effort to “get there,” no doubt. When people do, they celebrate, pat themselves on the back, and just want to forget about the whole journey altogether and enjoy life for a while. In...

Perhaps Our Markets Just Look Better Than Other Markets?

March 29, 2011

It’s good to be the least-ugly sister.

American markets powered ahead again yesterday, despite ongoing tensions in Europe and very bad economic data. Stocks rallied 0.9% on volume that is again slipping into the “sleepy” zone (the last three days’ volume is the lowest 3-day volume since the holiday season), but the indices seem dead-set on skittering to new highs over the next couple of weeks. Bonds sold off once again, pulling the 10-year yield up to 3.41%. TIPS, however, did marvelously after a terrific 10y auction that cleared well through the screens, 0.92%, on a 2.97:1 bid-to-cover ratio. Demand for inflation protection is plenty strong enough to sustain a market with no net issuance.

Initial Claims was on-target, but the Durable Goods report was awful. The headline printed -0.9% versus +1.2% expected. Ex-transportation, a more-relevant number, was -0.6% versus expectations for +2.0%. With last month’s -3.0%, that marks the first back-to-back negative month...

America: Love It or Leave It

March 29, 2011

I disliked the phrase, “America, love it or leave it” when it made the rounds in the ’60s, and I dislike it now. I don’t see how any thinking adult can claim to love the freedoms we enjoy while mouthing such un-American sentiments.

I am grateful daily for having been born in America. Considering my personality, there are few other countries I could have been as happy growing up in. When the opportunity arose, I volunteered to defend the country that had granted me such a free and enjoyable life. I love my country, I love its Constitution, and it saddens me to see the powerful, especially those who are employed to represent its citizens, use this country’s freedoms to cause it harm.

Not just due to Bush, not just at the hands of the Senate; this country is straying from what makes it a great country.

I’ve said before that I can envision a move in the near future to push the U.S. further toward a theocracy. I hope I’m wrong. And I don’t put the respon...

Federal Program to Fight Illegal Immigration Creates Confusion

March 29, 2011

The New York Times reports that a new program meant to root out illegal immigrants through the criminal justice system may be more confusing than effective.  The program, dubbed “Secure Communities,” was developed under the Bush administration in 2008 and is meant to come into full effect during 2013.  The program’s underlying principle is noble:  deport the dangerous criminals who are in the United States illegally.  However, initial reports are showing that this may not actually be happening.  The process begins with the local and county jails taking the fingerprints of every person booked into local and county jails.  The fingerprints are then sent to the Department of Homeland Security where they are compared to finge...

Review: Caressed By Moonlight by Amanda J. Greene

March 29, 2011

Let me cut to the chase…SMACK! Did you hear that? That is the sound of Amanda J. Greene knocking it out of the freaking PNR park!

If you like PNR, Regency-lite (I’ll explain this later), intelligent heroines, smexy vampire alpha-males, marriages of convenience, fated love, lots of non-repetitive steamy (not crude) sex scenes and a new vampire mythos then you need to stop right now, and go buy this book (unbelievably only $3 on the kindle) and start reading. (Shoo!) BUT, if you care to hear me gush about more specific things in the book than keep reading…. I have only read one other Regency book so I am talking out my ass here, but I get the feeling Regencies can be really accurate historically or they can be the other end where the story is set in the 1800s and that is about it. This book I would call Regency-lite. It doesn’t dwell on all those “regency” details, but sticks to the main ideas of the era. I like Regency-lite!

This book is like two different book...
